ST JAMES' CHURCH IS DELIGHTED TO ORGANISE RECREATE FESTIVAL
FOR AND WITH THE COMMUNITY

Welcome to the 11th Recreate Festival, brought to you by the good folk of St James’ Church. I know its not your typical church event - like a summer fete or a jumble sale - but then Alderholt’s not a typical village!

So you might wonder “why we do it?” Clearly we get some buzz out of putting on a great festival with big name acts, and seeing everyone having a good time. But more than that we want to bring fun to our village and for people to have a good time without having to get in the car or go too far or pay too much. We want to have an excuse to throw a party and a chance to let our hair down. We want people to get together and be a community, to meet neighbours new and old in a relaxed and friendly venue. We want to try and put on something for all ages, and whatever circumstances. To create a place where no-one’s judged, and we can be ourselves.

We might even remember that God made us, and that he said it was “good” - but that’s entirely optional. And yes, we are trying to break some stereotypes about God and church. We are open to everyone, with or without faith, whatever age, opinion, music taste, wherever you are on the rainbow - come and enjoy!

Come and be refreshed, re-created. Something for all ages, something for everyone. Food and Drink. Things to make us laugh, things to make us think. A bit of dancing and exercise. And if you want the God bit - on Sunday its Easter - come along to our  inclusive, fun, messy, service at 10:30!
